This project challenges anti-development culture, existing development and housing policies, and traditional housing typologies with the intention to create a fluid, resilient, and equitable housing market in San Francisco. The Living Room project offers the following strategies:
-A ‘living room’ spatial typology for new developments which serves existing communities and neighborhoods, increases the viability and resiliency of developments, and eases tensions
-A unit system which supports flexible living arrangements and uses
-Housing and development strategies which can be employed on small-plot development and under-utilized land
